When God calls, the issue leans not on who we are, but on who He is. The encounter of Moses with the burning bush pictures human weakness and hesitation being met by the assurance of God's Person, presence and power. Our excuses-feeling unqualified, unbelieved, or ungifted - are answered by His declaration, "I Am." The message insists that identity, confidence, and ability are found not in oneself but in Christ, whose indwelling life gives strength for every calling and faith to obey even when we are most bankrupt and cannot yet see the outcome.
Human beings search tirelessly to discover who they are, but Scripture reveals that true identity is found only in relationship with God as His children. Through Christ, believers are not merely forgiven but adopted, receiving His Spirit to cry out, "Abba, Father." The Father loves, provides, and leads, and His children are called to depend, follow, and radiate His glory. To know oneself rightly is to see ourselves through the eyes of the loving Father and then live as those made new in the Son.
