Not just ‘a Theist’ but someone who believes in Jesus!

When circumstances are troubling, the answer is not only to believe in God, but to take the further step of believing also in Jesus. He is the one true way to the Father. To have seen Jesus is to have seen the Father. Also, Jesus has gone to prepare a specific, permanent resting place for us "in His Father's house", and He promised to return personally to take us there, so that "where He is, we may be also". Turn your stance of being a theist to also trust in the Lord Jesus Christ as your own personal Saviour. One day He is coming for you to take you permanently home to be with Him. At His first coming, He came to die and rise for you. At His second coming He is arriving in Person to collect you and take you home.

The Father’s Dwelling Place

The Father's house isn't primarily about heaven but about the reciprocal relationship of rest. When Jesus said He goes to prepare a place for us, He was speaking of providing rest for our souls through His death and resurrection. This creates a two-way relationship where we find rest in God through faith in Christ, and God finds His rest in us. The same Greek word used for "rooms" in John 14:2 appears again in verse 23 when Jesus says He and the Father will "make their home" with believers. Our belonging to God's family means we enter His rest, and He dwells within us—a beautiful picture of God's love on the stretch.

Being at Home in Heaven
