The End of the Mosaic Law

Series:
Passage: Hebrews 7:11-28, Romans 10:4
Service Type:

Hebrews 7 clarifies how the Government of our lives by the Old Covenant (in the Old Testament) has ended. Romans 10:4 says: “For Christ is the end of the Law for righteousness for everyone who believes.” Different denominations interpret this varyingly. Some say that this is talking only about our justification and that we believe and so are justified but we keep the law and so proceed in sanctification. Others say that the Law and its being a method to become righteous is not just about how you make your decision and make a start in the Christian life but is also about how your proceed in sanctification. Our passage in Hebrew 7 is the another passage other than Romans 10:4 that clarifies that the righteousness being talked about is a “righteousness from faith to faith”. Romans 1:17: says: “For in it (the gospel) the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, “The righteous shall live by faith.” This is what we are looking at in our morning Service.
