God With Us

God's plan from the beginning has been to dwell with His people. From the Old Testament sanctuary where His presence rested, through David's longing to gaze upon His beauty, to the promise of Emmanuel, God with us, He has continually drawn nearer. In Christ, believers now become the living temple of His Spirit, both individually and collectively as the Church. One day this purpose will be completed in glory, when He will dwell with His people forever, wiping away every tear and making all things new.

A New Identity – Moses

When God calls, the issue leans not on who we are, but on who He is. The encounter of Moses with the burning bush pictures human weakness and hesitation being met by the assurance of God's Person, presence and power. Our excuses-feeling unqualified, unbelieved, or ungifted - are answered by His declaration, "I Am." The message insists that identity, confidence, and ability are found not in oneself but in Christ, whose indwelling life gives strength for every calling and faith to obey even when we are most bankrupt and cannot yet see the outcome.

The Fullness of Christ

The Lord Jesus Christ contains within Himself the complete fullness of God's deity in bodily form. When we receive Christ as Saviour, we receive all of God's grace and truth - not merely a portion. Just as God revealed Himself to Moses as full of steadfast love and faithfulness, these same divine attributes are perfectly expressed in Jesus. There is no need to seek additional spiritual experiences beyond Christ, for in Him dwells all the fullness of God. This foundational truth provides assurance of salvation and forms the basis for genuine Christian fellowship across denominational lines.

The Wonderful Name of Jesus

"Let's change the powerful name to Isaiah in chapter 9 verse 6. And we want to talk about the name of Jesus this morning. As a matter of fact, if you read through the scriptures, you'll find there's quite a number of names that are given to Jesus. Some of them are titles. Some of them are descriptors of the role that he's in and also of his personhood. Sometimes the name is used to bring out the character of a person. And so in Isaiah chapter 9 and verse 6, we have a mention of some of the names of Jesus."

Discerning Miraculous Signs

"He said, 'not just because there are signs should you necessarily believe they're from God'. And he had a list of Bible verses which were actually telling of how some signs are not from God. And I thought gee that's something that we all should learn more about. And so that's where I've gotten this idea of a message tonight and we'll start a very obvious place in the book of Exodus."

Understanding Biblical Covenants

"Which covenants are mentioned and taught in the Bible? So they're biblical in the sense that it's the scriptures that have presented that idea to us. And basically there are not as many as you might think. There is the covenant that God made with Noah. And so you could say the Noahic covenant, that he wouldn't judge the world by water ever again. And there's other covenants of that nature. But basically to do with salvation, the only real covenants there are are the old covenant, that God made through Moses, and the new covenant that God made through Jesus. And those are indeed taught as the covenantal framework in which our salvation is set."

Only God’s Righteousness will do

"Blessed are those, verse six, who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled, the older versions used to read, or satisfied. Now when we listen in to people who comment on the Beatitudes and tell us what they think it's about, and probably if you took a survey of popular opinion, the general consensus is that the truth that's there is that God is the one who satisfies the basic needs of human living. And that there is a sense in which hungering and thirsting is a very common experience for people, and by coming to God, we find an answer to it."
